Bret Stephens is a well-known op-ed columnist for The New York Times and a senior contributor to NBC News. After launching his career at Commentary magazine in the mid-1990s, he spent 16 years at The Wall Street Journal, most notably writing "Global View," the neoconservative foreign-affairs column for which he was awarded the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for distinguished commentary. In the midst of his time with Wall Street Journal he spent several years as the editor of The Jerusalem Post.

Stephens has also authored or had original essays included in several books, including America in Retreat: The New Isolationism and the Coming Global Disorder (2014) and more recently in Has Obama Made the World a More Dangerous Place?: The Munk Debate on U.S. Foreign Policy (2015) and The Dying Art of Disagreement (2017).
