Worldwide Climate Teach-In

Date: 03-29-2023

Time: 7:00 – 8:30 PM

Location: Dolan Event Space

The Waide Center for Applied Ethics is sponsoring a campus-wide event for all.

“The biggest threat to our future is thinking that someone else will lead,

that someone else will solve the climate crisis.”

On March 29, a multidisciplinary Fairfield University faculty panel will discuss how their area of study addresses issues of climate change and justice.

Dr. Noradeen Farlekas, CFA – Business (Finance)

Dr. Robert Nazarian - Science (Physics)

Dr. Dilani Perera – Counselor Education (Mental Health)

Dr. David Schmidt – Ethics (Faith & Philosophy)

Dr. Kraig Steffen - Science (Chemistry & Environmental Studies)

Questions from the audience and dialogue will follow the presentation.

The goal of the worldwide Teach-In is to solicit thoughtful input from educators, students, faith leaders, and community members who are deeply concerned about climate change and our future.

If we don't talk about climate change, we won't act to stop it.

On or around March 29th, hundreds of thousands of people in more than fifty countries will be mobilized to focus on the critical climate justice work ahead, and on our shared resilient future. www.worldwideteachin.org

The event will be from 7:00pm-8:30 pm on the ground floor of Dolan in the large event space.

Refreshments and light food will be provided starting at 6:45pm.
