Scam Alert: Recruitment and Part-Time Job E-mails

We are beginning to see a resurgence of emails reflecting scam employment opportunities. Before forwarding these emails to students that might be interested, please take a moment to analyze whether it is legitimate.

  • Does it offer the promise of a large sum of money as payment for running errands or walking a dog?
  • Be wary of advertisements or emails with spelling or grammatical errors.
  • Don’t open a new bank account to receive money for people you don’t know.
  • Never trust unusual requests or job offers. If something doesn’t feel right, it probably isn’t.
