Reflections on Human Rights

(FYE Inspire Credit)

We invite students, faculty, and staff to join us for the Student Symposium & Art Exhibit on Tuesday, November 7th at 6:00 pm in the BCC Oak Room. Students, inspired by issues of social justice and human rights, created original art. Through their engagement with the Fairfield University Art Museum’s exhibit: In Real Times – Arthur Szyk: Artist and Soldier for Human Rights, students’ artwork addresses and reflects issues of social justice.

Lite fare and refreshments will be served during the art exhibit with student presentations to follow in the Dogwood Room.

Student artwork submitted for the competition will be specially recognized and a first prize winner will be awarded. Their artwork will be proudly displayed in the Quick Center’s Walsh Gallery.

Faculty and student resources for engaging with The Art of Arthur Szyk can be found: The Art of Arthur Szky: Student Reflections on Social Justice

This exciting interdisciplinary project is co-sponsored by The Humanities Institute, Religious Studies Department, Center for Catholic Studies, Sociology & Anthropology Department, Visual and Performing Arts, and The Bennett Center for Judaic Studies.
