Date: 11-15-2023

Time: 05:00 PM

Location: DSB Event Hall

Date: 11-15-2023

Time: 05:00 PM

Location: Dolan School of Business Event Hall

The final lecture in the Fall 2023 series from the Center for Catholic Studies will bring the conversation from the recent Synod in Rome to our campus, as we begin to unpack that gathering’s insights for the future of the Church.

On Wednesday, November 15th, at 5:00 pm in the Lower Level Event Hall of the Dolan School of Business we will hear from a dynamic duo from Philadelphia:  Dr. Maureen O’Connell of LaSalle University and Becky McIntyre, a community artist.  These two have worked as a team throughout the synod process to bring this dynamism more widely to the Church. They will speak out of their experience in Philadelphia during the synod process, listening and learning to those inside as well as those on the margins.

Just as our first lecture this semester focused on the dignity and agency of women, and our second focused on the changing demographics of the American Church, this lecture will also address today’s Catholics, focusing this time on the hopes and dreams of many young Catholics – as they ask if there will be a place for them in tomorrow’s church.
